With its full-bodied fit, the Vintage Cap is designed with tradition and authenticity in mind. A classic Flat Cap style for centuries, this iconic flat cap style is one of our best-selling flat cap styles since its introduction in the 1960’s.
Wool is an ideal, natural fabric for headwear as it is naturally warm, breathable, stain resistant, crease-resistant and above all eco-friendly. Whether looking for a traditional herringbone tweed, or perhaps a famous Salt & Pepper tweed with vibrant, colourful flecks, the extensive Hanna Hats Flat Cap Fabric Collection offers a myriad of choice.

Exchanges and returns
You can return or exchange items within 30 days of receiving them (Europe, USA and Canada). Items must be unworn, in original condition, with all tags and labels attached. Regular-priced items can be returned or exchanged. Sale items are exchange only. Custom-made items (size or colour) can't be returned or exchanged.

Postage is at your cost unless the error was ours. The item stays your responsibility until it reaches the workshop, so keep your proof of postage.
To start, email info@hannahats.com with the item and your reason. We'll send a payment link for the postage charge, then a returns label within 24 hours. Print the label and the three invoices, and attach the invoices to the outside of the box to avoid duties and taxes. Returns without the Returns Form may not be processed.
Approved returns are refunded to your original payment method, minus the original shipping cost. UK, Northern Ireland and rest-of-world customers should email info@hannahats.com for a tailored policy.

- Products should be stored in cool, dry, airy conditions and not exposed to direct sunlight.
- Wool products are naturally water repellent and resistant, but not fully waterproof. Should your cap/hat get soaked, we would recommend putting a small towel inside the cap/hat, place it on a towel and allow it to dry naturally indoors, away from any heat source.
- Products should not be machine washed or tumble dried.
- Products should not be treated with substances (e.g.) starch, soaps, sprays.
- Products should be dry cleaned only using a delicate cycle with less moisture.
- If creasing occurs, you can press your cap at home using an iron on a medium to high heat, you can see a video showing you how to do this on our Headwear Product Care page

As I roll into my late middle-age, a decent head covering has emerged as an essential wardrobe item. I grew up in rural Lincolnshire and was always impressed by the tweed caps sported by the visiting farmers, often worn at a jaunty angle. I'm delighted to have come across Hanna Hats. I found mine at the Old Book Shop at the Hill of Tara. I’d left my generic “baseball” cap in my room and it was a brilliant sunny day. I saw the Hanna cap and wondered if it was “me” or not. My new favorite cap I’ve owned quite a few flat caps over the years, but this Donegal cap from Hanna Hats became my favorite almost the moment I put it on. The fit is absolutely spot-on—comfortable and secure without being tight—and the shape looks fantastic straight out of the box. The Donegal tweed is even better in person. The grey herringbone has plenty of character and texture while remaining understated enough to wear with just about anything. I purchased my first Hanna Hat in 1996. My latest was this Vintage Cap Tweed (Irish Tweed Brown & Khaki Herringbone with Colourful Flecks Limited Edition / XL 62-63cm). I have a large head and it fit perfectly and was of outstanding quality. I highly recommend buying this and any of the hats on this website.

I have several hats of this type. Normally I think my fat head, 7 5/8, is extra large. For whatever reason I ordered large. It is a fine, snug fit, less likely to blow off. I bought my other hats in Christchurch, Hobart and a couple in the US. This is the best of the bunch. My only regret is that I wasn't in Donegal to get it! Thank you

I bought this in advance of a Christmas vacation trip to Ireland. It was cold and windy. I was a little nervous about pulling off the look, but after a couple of days of wearing it I couldn’t function without it. And I can’t understand why everyone in the states doesn’t wear one when it is cold. It genuinely keeps your head warm and it’s much better looking than a beanie. I’m going to wear it every time it gets cold in Texas. If you guys see a little order bump up from Houston, I’m going to need a little piece of that action 😁.
