Ideal for warmer days, the Vintage Cap in Linen is an essential accessory staple designed to elevate any summer look. Each piece is crafted using authentic, high-quality Irish linens expertly stitched together using the ancient craft of quilting. Historically, quilted fabric was made from the salvageable parts of old clothing or blankets which were recycled to create a new patchwork fabric.
The concealed stud-button, flat peak protects the face from the rain, wind and sun making this cap a perfect accessory for running errands and enjoying leisurely pursuits.
At Hanna Hats we use the highest quality linens to create our patchworks, and often cut patches from irregular shapes which are a by-product of our production, adding additional sustainability credentials to this eco-friendly cloth.

Irish caps go tropical.
Though not a fan of the narrow driving cap style and preferring the wider 8 panel, I decided to try out this Vintage Cap Patchwork Linen from Hanna Hats. I have owned several Donegal weave hats, but wool hats don’t work so well on a tropical beach, and I am more into linen these days soI thought I would give this one a go. I am glad that I did as I very much like the patchwork affect, a tradition that comes from quilting. It also gives me an idea of the different vintage linen fabrics that they might be able to make me an 8 panel cap from. I have a custom 8 panel Irish cap in the mail now because these folks make great caps for any climate.
It is now the fourth hat I bought from you. I bought the first in a shop in Dunfanaghy. Another one for my brother online my second one in March 2019 in your factory in Donegal and now this one for my mother. I will be back in Donegal with my wife in July and will surely stop by again.

What I find a bit dualistic is the fact that you can't choose the colours you guys use.
I mean last time I had a very colourful cap but this time it's more modest. On the on hand I like the suprize factor in this on the other hand would a little choice be something as well.
Not really sure on which side of the fence I am with this, ....

This is my third Hanna cap. John Hanna has turned me into a “hat person”. I’m not wearing a hat for warmth or cover, I’m wearing it because it adds something fashionable to who I am andI now have a handsome linen cap for the warmer weather. Al three caps are extremely well made with a great selection of fabric- many thanks John!
I've worn Hanna hats for at least the last 15 years; however, this was my first venture into buying one directly online. After measuring my "dome" in the suggested way, I came up with the size of medium, and promptly sent my order. Soon after, though, I began to worry, as all my other Hannas are large, so I fired off an email fearing that I'd be too late too change the order.
The next day an email from John Patrick Hanna showed up in the inbox, graciously changing the ordered hat to a large, and explaining how the sizes vary due to hand stitching of the hats.
I enjoy all of my Hanna hats; but this one is quickly becoming my favorite as it is not uncomfortable to wear in warmer temperatures. It's seldom seen the shelf! Thank you for a fine product!

My last two Hanna Hats are made of linen cloth. Understand, I love my wool Hanna Hats also. Now just imagine living here in Riverside County, CA and all this summer heat.
