Created in the 1960’s and very close in design to the very first Hanna Hat ever made by founder David Hanna, our Irish Walking Hat style is handcrafted by our specialist hat team in Donegal, Ireland and remains our most popular hat style.
Available in a selection of our best-selling, timeless Irish tweeds, the Walking Hat fabric collection features heavy-weight tweeds in classic colours peppered with colourful flecks which reflect the vibrancy and diversity of our landscape.
Material
At Hanna Hats we use the highest quality tweeds to create our patchworks, and often cut patches from irregular shapes which are a by-product of our production, adding additional sustainability credentials to this eco-friendly cloth.

Timeless quality, as this is my second Hanna Hat and the first one was purchased in a little shop about 25 years ago and still fits perfectly. I needed an Irish Walking Hat and I couldn't be happier with this one. Sometimes you just have to spoil yourself with some nice things!

This is my fifth Hanna Hat and second Walking Hat. The first one is from 2014 and is still in great shape. I just took this new one to have another color in the collection. My Hana Hats & Caps are brilliant. Very durable and comfortable, especially during cold, windy and rainy days.

Very pleased - my late dad was a Donegal man and we still have family on the farm where he was born. I asked for the hat as my birthday present. It is well used!!
The green hat is my most recent purchase and I noticed that it is slightly larger than my other 2 "large" Hanna walking hats, for some reason. The green hat also had a strong dry clean chemicals odor to it that my other 2 hats never had. Overall, I'll wear it and hope the smell will eventually go away and maybe the hat will fit better if I wear my hair long. Otherwise keep these issues in mind if you are planning on purchasing a hat. BTW, the first 2 walking hats I own are nifty perfect; smell good and fit great.
I currently have 4 Hanna hats, 2 walking hats and 2 flat caps. I would describe them as heirloom quality hats with perfect sizing. I like to wear my green ones to Irish festivals and my black one all the time because black goes with everything.
