Material
Linen, which is made from the flax plant recognised by its “wee blue blossom”, has a long history in Ireland stretching back to the 1st millennium, and it was one of the main industries during the plantation of Ulster from the 1600’s. There are only a handful of mills producing Irish Linen today, and we are proud to support this ancient industry.

This is a beautiful hat! It is absolutely top quality, and it fits like a dream! Hanna Hat linen flatcaps are my go-to on those windy walking days, because they fit SO WELL!
My only gripe is that the hat is a little more "green" than "khaki" to my eyes now that I have it -- and to be honest, we can probably blame that in part on my laptop/phone/monitor screens for my expecting a darker tan color. This is definitely only a "mild" gripe, though, since I really do love the "khaki green" -- it just feels a little less "universal" for color combinations.

I discovered Hanna Hats by accident when researching high quality flat caps. This cap, the vintage linen cap, was my first purchase. I had to reach out for sizing help and got a pleasant response the next day. The cap is great quality and fits amazingly. It is definitely the kind of quality I was looking for. I guess having it hand made in Ireland was the right way to go. At the time of writing this review I’ve already ordered a second cap and I’m just waiting for delivery. This new hat makes 19 in my husband’s collection. I purchased the last one for him for Christmas and he loves every single one of his hats. He wears them all the time and he even picked up two new ones when we were in Ireland last year. Having never worn linen before, I was surprised by the initial stiffness and slight "roughness" of the material; however, after just a couple of days of wear, the material now feels so soft! The hat is super comfy and fits amazingly well.

The brown beige &green houndstooth linen cap is quickly becoming my favorite summer hat. The color/ pattern looks great, the fit was perfect. I also purchased the navy & aqua salt and pepper tweed cap. The online picture doesn't do it justice, it is a very good looking hat. Unfortunately it was a little big, if I had more hair it would have been a perfect fit. I didn't want to send it back and I was worried about putting a hatsizer in because they loose their stick and fall out over time leaving glue behind so I took it to my tailor and had her stitch one in. I'm now up to 6 Hanna hats in my collection and love every one of them

Unfortunately, deliveries from Ireland to Switzerland are disproportionately charged by UPS, so it's not worth having it delivered to Switzerland.
