Each piece is crafted using authentic, high-quality Irish tweeds expertly stitched together using the ancient craft of quilting. Historically, quilted fabric was made from the salvageable parts of old clothing or blankets which were recycled to create a new patchwork fabric.
At Hanna Hats we use the highest quality tweeds to create our patchworks, and often cut patches from irregular shapes which are a by-product of our production, adding additional sustainability credentials to this eco-friendly cloth.

About 12 years ago I bought my first Hanna Hat in good old Avalon or Glastonbury.
I wore it very often especially when the weather was colder.
We grow older and of course my best friend grows older. But I could not change my Hanna Hat for a "modern" beanie or something like that.
The Hanna Hat became a special part of me.
When I looked inside the cap I decided to look for the website of Hanna Hats. Immediatly I saw a new special hat, the classic one. And I bought it. Proud wearing my new friend on the photograph. On our first trip to western Ireland we were visiting the Cliffs of Mower. It was a cold and rainy season. Found a woolen store at a nearby shop and bought this same hat. It was perfect. Some hats are just hats. Others define. They take over. Few achieve art. This hat is a work of art. I bought this for my son...his third. He’s a hard Alaskan. One he wore out (like in the mountains... he wore it out...but it still exists. Just very worn from many miles...a hand me down from older brother). His second is still prime, another hand-me-down (heirloom), but he got paint on it working. He’d wear it til the Apocalypse, but he deserves better). This is his first NEW Hanna...with zero mileage.
